Courtenay Fish & Game Outdoor Show

Each year we set up a flytying area at the outdoor show where we tie flies, handing out samples to kids and deserving adults.  We also run a draw that the kids can enter to win a fly box full of flies that we tie while we are there.  There is one box for Saturday and one for Sunday.  It is a good event for talking fly fishing and handing out cards to prospective new members. (By the way, anyone know where we stand with the availability of our new ones?)  Ralph Shaw’s grandson usually joins us with a bunch of tom thumbs pre-tied for give-aways in honor of his Grampa.  ORES usually joins us at the table as well.  Not sure who is handling that this year as Jim Loring usually looks after it.  Following are the event particulars.

 Location: Courtenay Fish & Game Clubhouse Comox Lake.  Top Floor.

 Fly tiers are needed for Saturday and Sunday.  Set up is Saturday am from 7-9 am.  Elsie has the grill going and Breakfast is available from 7:30 am.  Dean plans to be there around 8am Saturday for set up and will be tying flies both days.  Would those members available to tie flies please contact Dean Hodgson directly and let him know what days you are available to tie.
