Hello everyone, this is a reminder about our fishout happening Sunday May 15th.
For newcomers who do not have a watercraft to fish from, Keith Shillito and Brett Walters each have room for person to fish with them in their boat.
Jim Loring, Bruno Antonello and Cam Lewis have “U” boats (float tubes shaped in a U) that t.hey are willing to loan out.
********** The first members that contact any of the above five members via email once this message is sent out will either get to fish from a tin boat with a partner or borrow a U boat. Good Luck! Their email addresses are on our website under Club Roster. *********
To get to Spider Lake take the inland highway south and turn off at the Horn Lake/Spider Lake turnoff and follow the signs to Spider Lake Provincial Park. You will drive right up to the boat launch just before you get to the park.
We should try to be at the launch by 9ish or thereabouts so there will be other members present to assist with boat launch if necessary.
For those new members who will be in their own watercraft and would like some guidance on how to fish the lake, you will be paired up with an experienced “Spiderman” who will be in their own boat and guidance will be imparted should you desire it as you fish alongside each other. Primarily, we will be fishing trolled leeches and nymphs on sinking lines or anchored and fishing chronomids. If you arrive later and miss the main launching, I will be fishing chironomids in front of the cottages. I have a blue pontoon boat and if the fishing’s not going well the air around me may be blue as well! Come by and see me and I will see you get any assistance you may need.
I hope enough of our experienced Spidermen are able to attend so our newer members can get the help they need.
Everyone is reminded to bring their own pfd (lifejacket).
Looking forward to seeing everyone, it should be a lot of fun.
