So the Pinks have made it to the Eve River just above Sayward. This upcoming weekend August 18, 19, and 20th should be a great weekend for a fish out. There is free camping near the log sort on the right hand side near the estuary. There is a couple of outhouses but no running water or sewers hookup. I heard that there was a fair bit of room to set up for camping last weekend but that isn’t always the case. Last year the fish were taking a blue handlebar fly with a chartreuse bead, this year I heard they taking pink flies with a chartreuse bead very well. The tides this weekend should be very good for afternoon and evening fishing. To get to the Eve you take the highway 19 towards Port McNeil, go past Sayward, take a right I believe at mile marker 260. There is a clear cut we’re you turn right onto the main logging rd to the Eve from highway 19. Stay on the main logging road for about 18km. Drive with care as this is a active logging road. As you approach the log sort keep to the right and look for an open area you should see a bit of a opening with campers. I am not sure I will be able to make it this weekend but it should be good fishing. Good luck Cam
